This City is More Romantic than New York and Los Angeles! Where Does Your City Rank?

With more than twenty-five percent of Americans planning to dine out on February 14th, Valentine’s Day is the second-busiest day of the year (after Mother’s Day) for restaurants. Lavu, Inc. has done some research to determine which parts of our country have the biggest appetite for romance, analyzing data on items from wines to desserts to overall spending.

Of the top fifty cities, Naples, Florida beat out locales with rich and storied food history like Atlanta, GA and Santa Fe, NM to top the list for highest per-ticket Valentine’s Day restaurant sales. Indianapolis, IN proved to rule the opposite end of the spectrum, revealing itself to have the lowest ticket average.

Cincinnati, OH took the cake (both literally and figuratively) by emerging at the top of the charts for “Biggest Sweet Tooth” as well as the most “Drunk in Love” city, while Honolulu, HI brought up the rear as the least booze-soaked city surveyed.
