They can make your pig shake
Flash’s Cocktails – Boston, MA
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about a product called Bacon jam, the decadent, spreadable brainchild of the mad food scientists at skilletbaconjam.com. Today, I’ll keep this porcine palatables train chugging smoothly along, and talk about a new cocktail appropriately called the Pigshake, currently being served at Flash’s in Boston, Mass.
Leave it to a New England establishment to keep on raising the bar on tasty cream-based delights (chowdah, anyone?) The Pigshake is a few of my favorite things. It’s a milkshake. It’s liquor. It’s ice cream. It’s bacon. It’s an audacious blending of smoked, salted bacon hunks, vanilla ice cream, Captain Morgan’s spiced rum, and just enough bacon drippings and molasses to thicken the stew, drizzled with maple syrup and served in chilled stemware. But if that’s too much the mouthful and too many players to keep track of when you inevitably relate its existence to friends, thank hog heaven that “Pigshake” is the only word you need to remember when ordering one.
