Burgundy Beef Stew

The first day of Fall arrived this week.  It seemed like a good occasion for turning our thoughts toward foods we tend to enjoy more during the year’s cooler months.  Something about the sight of foliage changing color and people trading their flip-flops and sleeveless tees for sweaters and autumn jackets just makes a bowl of hot stew or soup taste better.  It makes digging into a steaming bowl of meat and potatoes feel a little more right.

In this cooking video segment posted to YouTube by TVGal901, the late, talented Merle Ellis shows us how to “Cut Up & Cook.” Don’t be surprised if after viewing it, you find yourself standing in your kitchen pouring burgundy into your pressure cooker with no recollection of having reached for either of them.  We’re just saying…this dish looks that good.
