On October 2nd, 2010, Bethesda, Maryland will get considerably tastier.

This Saturday, more than 55 Bethesda restaurants will take their wares to the street as part of the 2010 Taste of Bethesda food festival. Four stages offering live entertainment will share Woodmont Triangle with culture-spanning cuisine ranging from the familiar comfort food of the American burger joint to the gustatory exotica of dishes from Thailand, India, and beyond. A full list of participating eateries can be found here.

A family-friendly event, this annual gathering of the gastronomes will also delight little ones with cookie decorating, fun giveaways, and face painting in the Kid’s Corner.

Naming the likes of Coca-Cola, Comcast, and ABC-7 among more than a dozen sponsors, Taste of Bethesda joins Best of Bethesda Day, Rescue Day, and Come Back to Bethesda, a car-show and fundraising event benefiting the Children’s Inn at NIH, in highlighting all that this thriving community has to offer.

Taste of Bethesda will take place along Norfolk, St. Elmo, Cordell, Del Ray and Auburn Avenues in Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, October 2nd, 2010. Free parking will be available in downtown Bethesda’s public garages nearest to the event. The Bethesda Circulator will offer free transport to and from the Bethesda Metro station and public garages.

The event is free to attend. Tasting tickets will be sold on-site, four tickets for $5.00, with a typical food serving costing one to three tickets. For further details, visit
