Weather reports are claiming that snow’s on the ground in damn near all fifty states (including Hawaii, go figure). If you’re in the D.C. area, just try finding a better reason than a forecast like that for stopping into Café Saint-Ex for a specialty cocktail called a Choco Vine. This is the name given to a wonder of mixologist’s badassery that consists of Chocovine wine, coffee, brandy, anise and orange cinnamon syrup (house-made, no less, reflecting an industrious nature for which even the most hardcore teetotaler can hopefully give up some praise), and w.b. almond orgeat (pronounced “OHR-ZHAT” in case you wondered).
This drink might well be the best reason you’ll find all Winter for dropping in and warming up. or maybe it will be the homemade absinthe whipped cream piped lovingly atop its surface as a finishing touch and a definitive exercise in hellified “Yes, they took it there.” Either way, you’ll wanna get to sippin’ at your earliest convenience.
