Tomorrow, March 14th in Washington, D.C., over a dozen world-class professional chefs will compete in the fifth annual Embassy Chef Challenge.  From 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm this Thursday, the chance to sample the same international foods regularly enjoyed by diplomats and heads of state awaits attendees of this gala event.  The competition marks the continuation of the chef battle Challenge Hungary fought on February 10, 2013, which pitted droves of chefs against one another in preliminary culinary combat to fashion a main course within a two-hour timespan from one common ingredient and several surprise food items.  The 2013 Embassy Chef Challenge fare will focus on regional hors d’oeurves and pamper guests with a premium open bar and live and silent auctions with proceeds going to benefit free events and programs offered by Cultural Tourism D.C. Judged by food critics and celebrity chefs (including an appearance by Carla Hall of tv’s The Chew and Top Chef All Stars), and offering the chance to win great culinary adventure prizes, an evening spent sipping your favorite spirits between bites of culturally-diverse five-star cuisine sounds like a pretty satisfying to roll.  Score tickets to the party here.
