Flavorful World’s Friday Fourplay offers up a bite-sized tidbit of info on each of the four food- and drink-related things we found most interesting each week.
2013 Pebble Beach Food and Wine Festival
Come for the four days of eating and drinking like a boss. Stay for the gathering of celebrated culinary royalty scheduled to appear this year (Fabio Viviani, Anne Burrell, and Guy Fieri, to name a few.) The Sixth Annual Pebble Beach Food and Wine Festival is going down on the West Coast from April 4th to April 7th, and will feature cooking demos, interactive dinners with culinary masters, after-hours parties, and plenty of other events that promise to make this festival an affair to remember.
Free Pizza With Vasectomy Through April 6th
Now through April 6th, 2013, pizza is being offered gratis to any man with the testicular fortitude to visit The Urology Associates of Cape Cod, Massachusetts and forfeit his ability to reproduce (because men love free pizza, I suppose.) Given claims by the clinic that business is way up in wake of this special, one can’t help but wonder whether this is the first of similar promotions planned for the future.
Tasting Sri Lanka in 3 Minutes
I agree with the assertion from Daniel Klein, author of the article associated with this video titled Walking Sri Lanka from The Perennial Plate on Vimeo: two weeks is indeed insufficient time to get to know, truly know, a place. But somehow, 3 minutes is exactly enough time to have renewed my interest in Sri Lanka as a future food excursion destination.
Via Serious Eats
First the bad news: it’s only available in Canada at present. Okay, now the good: it’s a specially-formulated breakfast food intended to promote sexual health and nourish the libido. Available in two recipes, one for women and one for men, the product is meant to help maintain men’s testosterone levels and women’s hormonal balance. If it tastes as good as one would hope, then it shouldn’t be long before Sexcereal makes its way to supermarket shelves (and perhaps bedside nightstands) the world over.
