3 Valentine’s Day Cocktails Starring Vanilla and Chocolate

Chocolates may have a traditional place on center stage on Valentine’s Day, but the clean, creamy taste of vanilla should not be counted out. SKYY Infusions Vanilla Bean cocktails are a good way to add a unique twist to your Valentine’s Day drinks list.

New York City mixologists John deBary of New York speakeasy PDT and Franky Marshall of Clover Club have each created a cocktail perfect for that sultry V-Day sip for you and your cherished someone.

The latest Infusions release from the iconic blue bottled vodka, SKYY Infusions Vanilla, made with real vanilla beans, features a rich, smooth taste of creamy soft vanilla, luscious white chocolate and slightly toasted caramel creating a delicious, decadent flavor that lingers on your tongue.

• 1 ½ oz. SKYY Infusions Vanilla Bean
• ½ oz. SKYY Infusions Moscato Grape
• ¾ oz. Lime Juice
• ½ oz. Simple Syrup
• ½ cup Organic Raspberries

Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Fill shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds. Pour into a coupe glass.

Creme-de-Vanilla FINAL

Crème de Vanilla

• 2 ½ oz. SKYY Infusions Vanilla Bean
• ½ oz. White Creme de Cacao
• ½ oz. Stumptown Cold Brew Coffee
• ¾ oz. Half and Half Cream
• ½ oz. Cinnamon Syrup
• Milk Chocolate Shavings
• 2 Vanilla Beans

Pour all ingredients into a small tin, and fill up 3/4 of the tin with pillow ice. Blend on Medium-High for approximately 16-20 seconds. Then pour into small snifter. Garnish with milk chocolate shavings and vanilla beans.

And, because it is Valentine’s Day we’re talking about, and it is later this week, here’s a simple cocktail recipe featuring Godiva Chocolate Liqueur for all you traditionalists out there. Best part about enjoying your V-Day chocolate this way is that you don’t have to play candy roulette, ever fearful of biting into a chocolate full of coconut.

• 1 ½ oz Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
• 1 ½ oz Frangelico
• ½ oz Dry White Rum

Chocolate shavings (garnish): Carefully draw a vegetable peeler across the broad surface of a bar of semi-sweet or milk chocolate. This works best if the chocolate is at room temperature. For narrower curls, use the side of the bar.

In a cheater tin, add Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, Frangelico and White Rum. Fill the cheater tin halfway with ice and shake for about 8 seconds. Strain the cocktail into a coupe and garnish with chocolate shavings. Serve.
