Ever wondered what it would cost to spend an entire day eating the most expensive foods and dishes that money could buy? So did our friends at FinancesOnline.com, and the resulting infographic produces some pretty astonishing results.
In the interest of fairness, it bears noting that not every food discussed earned its exorbitant price tag on its own merits; a few of them owe a debt to external accoutrement such as sprinklings of edible gold leafing or a scattering of precious stones. Some expected items that are known to be pricey made the list, such as saffron and Japanese wagyu beef. The $1,000 lobster frittata and the Serbian Pule cheese that goes for $700 per pound, though…those were revelations. See more after the jump.
