Flavorful World’s Friday Fourplay offers up a bite-sized tidbit of info on each of the four food- and drink-related things we found most interesting each week.
What a Wonderful (Tasting) World
At the Japanese science museum Orbi Yokohama, one can presently purchase a sandwich that resembles our planet. We have a partnership between the BBC and Sega to thank for this visually-striking crispy chicken bite served on a blue bun. Any person who has ever eaten one of these and not pretended to be Galactus while doing so missed out on quite the opportunity.
French Rosé Wine Sorbets
Exactly what it sounds like, this is a frozen treat made with rosé wine. Created by former ice cream-maker Alain Martinez and launched with his business partner Barthélémy Gaylord, LichBitSun sorbet au vin rosé is 5%. To enjoy a taste, though, one has to travel to the Var, where it is currently available for purchase at two supermarkets and several restaurants. Many has been the time I’ve hankered to enjoy my favorite wine by the tub instead of the glass. It’s good to know I now have the option.

FingerNaps, created in South Korea, are plastic sleeves that slip over one’s fingers to protect them from messy foods (think greasy chicken wings, ketchup-drenched fries, or any other thing you wouldn’t want to encounter on the fingertips of someone whose hand you were about to shake.) Well-played, South Korea. My clean, dry hands are in your debt.

There She Glows Again
A product called XUVO is currently seeking crowdfunding on Indiegogo. Consisting of a fizzy tablet that turns an ordinary glass of water (and/or liquor, because who’s going to stop you?) into an energy drink that glows under black light, it comes it four sugar-free, gluten-free, vegan flavors, presumably because when you gotta glow, you gotta glow, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still take an interest in your health as you down luminescent libation shots.
