The 2014 World Food Championships will take over downtown Las Vegas, Nevada’s world-famous Fremont Street from November 12th to 18th. In this culinary competition, professional and amateur cooks from across the globe will gather to do kitchen battle for fortune and fame, using the Kenmore Coliseum as their combat arena. An approximate 500 competitors will cook-off in this 3rd annual event series which averages roughly 25,000 attendees per day.
So what, in fact, is the World Food Championships? According to the WFC website:
“The World Food Championships is the natural progression of the thousands of cooking competitions that take place across the globe each year. Tens of thousands of consumers will compete in a year-long trial to qualify for the World Food Championships. The World Food Championships takes over where Food Network leaves off – in the kitchen and backyard of every American home.”
Other attractions will include the best local food trucks, culinary demonstrations on the main stage, a mixology competition, live musical entertainment from rising Vegas acts, the second annual Downtown Las Vegas Food Fight (a celebrity athletes cooking showdown), and lots more.
