Product Review: Sea’s Gift Roasted Seaweed Snacks

Reviewer’s Note: Samples of the products discussed here were provided to me for reviewing purposes at no cost.

Sea’s Gift™ Roasted Seaweed Snacks are made of Korean gim. Gim is Korean seaweed that gets roasted and lightly salted. Although it might seem unavoidable for such a product to invite comparisons to Japanese nori, I found Sea’s Gift more than capable of standing on its own merits. As such, I’ve chosen to refrain from weighing the two against each other as has already been done on numerous occasions by numerous reviewers.

Paper-thin and full of subtle flavor that recalls ocean mists, this product is crisp and remains crunchy long after the package is opened. An all-natural food, Sea’s Gift delivers 100% daily value of iodine and requires no sugar or MSG to enhance its pleasant taste. Vegan and gluten-free, this is a low-calorie snack for anyone who has ever longed for a light and satisfying snack that doesn’t fall flat in the flavor department.

Each package of Sea’s Gift™ Roasted Seaweed holds an approximate dozen sheets of gim. Delicious taken alone, it is also versatile enough to complement a multitude of dishes, from enjoying it with sushi or sashimi to topping a salad or bowl of steamed rice. Its taste is pleasing enough to make Sea’s Gift™ Roasted Seaweed seem faintly addicting at times, as one constantly seeks out news ways to incorporate it into a meal. With all that this product has going for it in terms of nutritional value and healthy qualities, however, this seems an addiction that is not only safe, but is perhaps to be encouraged.
