Two Valentine’s Day Getaways for (Food) Lovers Seeking a Little Pampering

Valentine’s Day is characterized by many things: long-stemmed flower arrangements, chocolate assortments sold in decorative boxes, a chance to splurge a little on dining out, and often, elaborate lovers’ getaways to places that lend themselves to romantic interludes. Its flirtatious Zou Bisou Bisou package begs for just a little “kiss kiss” on the lovers’ holiday and smooches you back with a delectable three-course Valentine’s Day Dinner prepared by award-winning Executive Chef Sylvain Harribey (a winner of Food Network’s Chopped) at Gaby Brasserie Française.

Here’s how it’s going down: On Feb. 13, guests will be greeted in their luxurious King Room overlooking the Manhattan skyline by a bottle of Champagne and a box of La Maison du Chocolat. They’ll awaken the following morning to delivery of a dozen red roses and breakfast in bed, followed by a relaxing candlelight in-room couple’s massage. Later, it’s on to dinner (with a bottle of wine) at Gaby Brasserie with a bottle of wine. The Zou Bisou Bisou package is available for stays February 13th-15th.

Chef Harribey’s distinctly French Valentine’s Day menu opens with a complimentary glass of Champagne. The three-course prix-fixe menu is priced at $140 per couple (excluding tax and gratuity) and is available on Feb. 14 from 5 to 10 p.m. Featuring selections like Heart Shaped Lobster and Ricotta Cheese Ravioli, Rack of Lamb & Tarte Fine Provençale, and a Ménage a Trois Trio de Desserts (Chocolate mousse tulip with Grand Marnier, raspberry macaron, and Sable Breton and salted caramel sauce), it’s evident that this Valentine’s Day weekend, midtown Manhattan will be the “City of Love.”
