Baguette Battle New York 2016 Will Crown NYC’s Best on January 21st

On January 21st, 2016, twelve competitors will face off in a competition that began last Fall with the goal of crowning the best baguette in the Big Apple.

Baguette Battle New York 2016 pits the finalists of online magazine French Morning’s readers’ poll against each other in a blind tasting to win the coveted title of Best Baguette in NYC.

Open to the public, this event to be held at the Sofitel Hotel includes bread tastings with  charcuterie (courtesy of event sponsor D’Artagnan) and cheese (Savencia), buffet with jam (Bonne Maman), and of course, some delicious wines. Competing finalists in this French bread fracas include:

Ariane Daguin, “Queen of Foie Gras,” D’Artagnan founder, and winner of Bon Appetit‘s 2005 Lifetime Achievement Award

Didier Elena, Culinary Director of the Chef’s Club by Food & Wine, awardee of two Michelin stars, and chef at Essex House by Alain Ducasse.
