13 Memorial Day Cocktails to Tasty Up Your Weekend

Regrets, we’ve had a few. Who among us hasn’t? Cocktails guaranteed to enliven your Memorial Day celebration as few things can? We’ve got a baker’s dozen. Yep, this Red, White & Blue weekend, We’re getting by with a little help from our friends. Luckily, our friends are mixologists, and they’re your friends too. So sip, savor, and salute to your heart’s content with these drink recipes you and your guests will remember long after the last of the food leaves the grill.


Jägermeister Paloma

  • 1.5 oz Jägermeister
  • 1oz fresh pink grapefruit juice
  • 0.5oz fresh lime juice
  • 0.5oz agave nectar
  • Fill w/ Izze grapefruit soda

Garnish: Grapefruit peel

Glass: Highball Glass

Method: Combine all ingredients except the grapefruit soda in the small tin add ice and shake. Strain over fresh ice fill with grapefruit soda, stir, garnish and serve.

  • 1oz Fresh Pink Grapefruit Juice
  • .5oz Simple Syrup
  • Grapefruit Soda

Method: Shake and strain all ingredients into a highball glass except grapefruit soda over fresh ice, top with soda and garnish with half a grapefruit wheel.

  • 1.5oz Jägermeister
  • .5oz Fresh Lime Juice
  • .5oz Agave Nectar
  • Bar Spoon Of Apricot Preserves
  • Ginger Beer

Method: Shake and strain all ingredients into a highball glass except ginger beer over fresh ice, top with soda and garnish with ginger candy.


THE DROP

  • 1.5 Jägermeister
  • 2oz Coconut Water
  • .25 Fresh Lemon Juice
  • .25 Fresh Pineapple Juice
  • .5oz Simple Syrup

Method: Shake and strain all ingredients into a highball glass over fresh ice and garnish with a pineapple chunk.


Frangelico Collins

  • .5 oz. Frangelico
  • 1 oz. Fino Sherry
  • 1 oz. Cinzano 1757
  • .75 oz. Amontillado Sherry
  • .5 oz. Lemon Juice
  • 2 Dashes of Orange Bitters

Method: Combine all ingredients and whip shake with 3 ice cubes. Pour into Collins glass over ice. Top with tonic and garnish with a lemon wheel.


Frizzante

  • 2 parts sparkling water
  • 1 part Frangelico
  • Squeeze of fresh lime

Method: Serve over ice


Patrón and Tonic

  • 2 oz Patrón Silver
  • Tonic water
  • Lime wedge for garnish

Method: Combine Patrón Silver with tonic water, beginning with a well-iced highball glass. Garnish with a lime wedge.


Patrón Mojito

  • 1.5 oz Patrón Silver
  • 1 cut Lime
  • 1 oz Simple Syrup
  • Club Soda
  • 6-8 Fresh Mint Leaves
  • Lime wedge for garnish

 

Method: In a tall glass, muddle mint leaves, lime, and simple syrup. Add a cup of ice and Patrón Silver, and top with club soda. Stir gently. Garnish with a lime wedge.


Jalisco Mule

  • 2 oz Patrón Reposado
  • 3 oz Ginger Beer
  • .5 oz Lime Juice
  • Lime Twist
  • Candied Ginger

 

Method: Combine Patrón Reposado and lime juice in chilled copper mug filled with crushed ice. Top with ginger beer and stir. Garnish with a lime wedge and candied ginger.

 

Aperol Spritz

  • 3 Parts Cinzano Prosecco
  • 2 Parts Aperol
  • 1 Dash Soda
  • Ice and a slice of Orange

Method:

Pour the Prosecco, Aperol and a dash of soda into an ice-filled balloon wine glass and stir. Garnish with an orange slice.

 

Mixtape Punch

  • ¼ oz. Aperol
  • 1 oz. Vodka
  • 1 oz. Dry Vermouth
  • ¾ oz. Watermelon Juice
  • ¾ oz. Lime Juice
  • ½ oz. Simple Syrup
  • Top with Sparkling Wine

Build in a wine glass and stir. Top with sparkling wine.

Punch bowl serving:

  • 1 oz. Aperol
  • 4 oz. Vodka
  • 4 oz. Dry Vermouth
  • 3 oz. Watermelon Juice
  • 3 oz. Lime Juice
  • 2 oz. Simple Syrup
  • 6 oz. Sparkling Wine

Build ingredients in a punch bowl and stir.

A Not So Secret Garden

NOLET'S A Not So Secret Garden 1

Tim Wells, Revival Social Club  – Chicago, IL

  • 1 oz NOLET’S Silver Gin
  • 1/2 oz St Germain (elderflower liqueur)
  • 1/4 oz Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 oz Raspberry Liqueur
  • 6 – 8 pieces of cubed cantaloupe (approximately 1/4 cup)
  • 6 -8 basil leaves

 

Combine lemon, basil, and cantaloupe in a shaker. Muddle the ingredients until the cantaloupe has been crushed. Add the remaining ingredients, fill shaker with ice, shake for 8 – 10 seconds, double strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

Americano

  • 1 oz. Campari
  • 1 oz. Cinzano 1757

Splash of Club Soda

Method: Pour Campari and Cinzano 1757 over ice in a rocks or highball glass. Add a splash of club soda. Garnish with an orange twist.
