Tour Champagne and Bordeaux with BKWine in Spring 2017

The Spring 2017 tour season is just around the corner, and BKWine has two new wine tours on its Spring schedule. These excursions will take travelers inside two renowned classic French wine regions, touring Champagne in April and Bordeaux in May.

Britt Karlsson comments: “Springtime is a wonderful time to travel in the wine regions. The days are long, the weather is often excellent, and the winemakers have plenty of time to talk about their work. I feel confident that these are unique tours with very special visits; each year I personally visit more than 200 vineyards. Few, if any other tour operator has an equivalent contact network. It is very important for me that the visits are very personal and of top quality.”

Champagne, famous houses and innovative growers, brings wandering oenophiles to the wine cellars and vineyards of Champagne. Many world-famous houses await visitors, their impressive underground cellars dug out of the chalk rock. Respect for tradition notwithstanding, this tour also devotes focus to the new guard of independent champagne growers attracting mounting attention from international experts. Those who take this tour can count on luxurious meals to be enjoyed with champagne served throughout. Tour dates are April 19-23, 2017, and the tour is priced at 1690 euros per person (approximately $1760.00 USD).

Chateau de Haux, Bordeaux, France

Bordeaux behind the scene takes the traveler to classic chateaux as well as lesser known family-owned properties driving new development in this famed wine region. Over three days, nine different chateaux, their vineyards, and their wine cellars are scheduled for exploration, with private tastings of different vintages at the estates. Lunches will be served as travelers enjoy being pampered as private guests of the wineries. And of course, no such tour would be complete without allowing ample time to explore the beautiful UNESCO-listed city center of Bordeaux. This tour takes place May 3-7, 2017 and is priced at 1590 euro per person (approximately $1660.00 USD).

Both tours are organized by Britt Karlsson, a veteran wine tour organizer and internationally recognized wine writer. She is currently putting the finishing touches on a groundbreaking new book on growers’ Champagne. Earlier this year, she published a book on Bordeaux that was awarded first prize in the Gastronomic Academy Book Awards.
