July and August, aside from being two of the hottest months of the summer, share another distinction that is resonating hard with us as of this writing. Each of the two months bears one or more distinct holidays built around celebrating the peach. July kicks things off with National Peach Ice Cream Day—which happens to be today by the way, so getcha scoop on—and August keeps the party going with no less than three separate observances: Not only is August National Peach Month, but August 22nd is National “Eat a Peach” Day, and the 24th is National Peach Pie Day.
What we’re saying is, the peach love is flowing freely for the next several weeks. If you want to get in on some of that good stuff, and want to do it in a way that speaks to your above-age-twenty-one sensibilities, there’s a tasty frappe for that. You can score a tall cold one at Wahlburgers until August 20th, 2017. Or you can keep reading below and try your hand at making your own cobbler-reminiscent version.
As for the convergence of so many peach-themed holidays and such a refreshing peach-inspired treat…coincidence?
Maybe. But probably not.
